Dear
Pre- K Families,
The year is quickly drawing to a
close, only three weeks left. I feel
confident saying that this class is off to a great start! As the year wraps up, I wanted to go over a
few last things.
·
Sometimes
parents like to have a final conference to check in prior to moving on to
kindergarten. If you’d like to schedule
a conference, please let me know on the attached page and we can coordinate a
time that will work during the second week of June. These are not mandatory, just available for
families who are interested. Tuesdays,
Wednesdays, & Fridays, I am available immediately after pick up or we can
arrange an evening time if needed.
·
Pets! If anyone would like to bring in a family pet
to share with the class in the next two weeks, please let me know. I have not
mentioned this idea to the class! As I
part of learning about pets, I thought it would be nice to have the class get
to practice meeting some child friendly family pets in a structured
situation and let the class ask some questions.
We would meet the animals outside on the playground, so that allergies
will not be a problem. Think about it
and please let me know on the following page if you’d like to participate. I will bring in my dog Wilson with Colby’s
help, so they will get to meet one pet for sure.
·
Australia
night is on June 10th. We
will be participating by singing some Australian songs with the rest of the
primary grades. Like the concert, if you
can make it- excellent if not don’t worry.
I just wanted to let you know what we would be performing. If you’d like to donate or help with event,
please let me know!
·
As
of Wednesday, June 9th no more things brought in for sharing
please. We will begin to share journals
with the class looking at work from the beginning and the end of the year so
they can take pride in each other’s work and learning.
·
Every
class is special to me in different ways but this year I found our group to be
particularly enjoyable to teach. I
wanted to do something special for them, so I thought it would be nice to do
one last extra fun project and make ice cream!
I will get all the ingredients to make vanilla ice cream but I thought
if anyone was interested and willing, maybe we could get a few donated items so
it could be a Sundae Party for the last day of school. The servings will be small. A volunteer or two would be helpful for the actual
sundae making which will take place at 10:40 on Friday the 18th. Please circle what (if anything) you’d be
interested in providing on the attached page and then I will let you know what
to bring.
Thanks
so much for your involvement and support this year. It really helps to improve the children’s
school and learning experience. I
couldn’t do it without you.
