What we learned about insects…

in the children’s own words.

Butterflies lay eggs.

I learned that there is a chrysalis.

Grasshoppers jump really far.  They have six legs.

Grasshoppers lay eggs, just like chickens.

Crickets are black and grasshoppers are green or brown.

Bees make honey.

Bees take pollen to make honey.  If you are

bothering them they will sting you, then they die.

Bumblebees lay eggs.

There is a queen bee.  She lays the eggs ‘cause she’s the queen.

Be gentle with insects.
