Pre-K to 6th Grade
Teachers:
Andy Davis, General Music and Chorus
Michael McKinney, Instrumental Music

The music program at Dover School includes:

Weekly music classes for each grade level, Pre-K through 6th grade.  These general music clases offer instruction in vocal music, classroom instruments, folk dance, music theory and history.

All-School Sing takes place each Friday morning.  The entire school - staff and students, as well as many parents - join in a program of group singing in the Fine Arts room.  Monthly awards, honoring of birthdays and class performances are also included in these gatherings.

Students in 3rd grade receive a weekly recorder class for 30 minutes.  This class introduces the students to the reading and writing of music and prepares the students for Instrumental music classes that begin in 4th grade.

Instrumental lessons begin in 4th grade.  Students in grades 4-6 can participate in the WCSU District Elementary Band under the direction of Michael McKinney.

The Dover School Chorus is open to interested students in grades 4-6.  Chorus meets weekly under the direction of Andy Davis.

There are two concerts each year.  The Winter Concert takes place in January and the Spring Concert takes place in May.

A Spring Talent Show is now in its third year.
