MENU/ENVELOPE ATTACHED
The menu and pre-pay envelope is attached to this newsletter. Please complete the envelope and send it back to school by Wednesday, Nov. 4th. Remember – ham and cheese (h/c) or turkey and cheese (t/c) may be substituted in place of the main item. (As well as the usual p/b/j).
ALERT NOW TEST
We only heard from one family that they did not receive the Alert Now test on Tuesday. We are assuming everyone else received the call. This test run assures us that the system is working properly. We will check to see why the one call did not take place. Thanks!
HALLOWEEN TAILGATE PARTY
On Friday (tonight) – the annual Halloween Tailgate Party will take place at 6p.m. at the Dover Town Hall Parking lot. This will be outside if weather permits. This event is sponsored by the Dover School Club. See you there!
A DOVER VOICE
The Valley Youth Sports Board invites any interested community member to become a liaison for the town at the monthly board meetings. This person would be able to share their perspective to help the board continue to meet the needs of our youth. If interested please contact Jessica Rizio at 464-3694. The next meeting is November 9th at 6p.m. at TVHS.
DEERFIELD VALLEY ROTARY WINTER SPORTS SALE
IS MOVING
Nov. 7th the Deerfield Valley Rotary Club will sponsor a Winter Sports and Tag Sale at the Deerfield Valley Elementary School on Rte. 100 in Wilmington, Vt. While the Twin Valley High School gym gets a new floor, the ski and skate sale will move down the road to the Deerfield Valley Elementary School, offering all of the same deals on winter clothing and sporting equipment.
Attendees will find all types of winter sporting gear like new and used skis, boots, poles, skates, snowshoes, parkas and winter clothing. New this year is the addition of a tag sale. The sale will be held on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 9a.m. – 3p.m. Winter sporting equipment and clothing can be dropped off on Friday, Nov. 6th from 4 – 7 p.m. The Winter Sports Sale is a consignment sale. Of the proceeds, 30% will go to the Rotary Fund and 70% will go to the seller.

FREE ADMISSION! ALL INVITED….
Journey East parents, students and friends cordially invite you to a great breakfast at the Jamaica Village School on Sunday, Nov. 1st from 8 – 11a.m. to raise money for the Maple Scholarship for Art Education. The funds raised will be used to assist students from the Arts College of Inner Mongolia University who are “excellent in character and in scholarship, and to those who are in financial need.” The aim of this unique scholarship program is to encourage students to study hard, develop their talents, and to promote ethnic Mongolian arts.” Over 40 Chinese/Mongolian students have been recipients of these scholarships since the program was initiated in 2004. WCSU students and teachers will have the opportunity to enjoy performances of the whole delegation on Oct. 29 at 12:30 and/or at 7:30 on Oct. 30th. Come to the breakfast on the 1st, where you can listen to/watch and interact with our foreign guests in a more intimate atmosphere.
The cost is: $7. per person, maximum of $25. per family (up to 5 people). There will be door prizes as well.

Save the date – Saturday, Nov. 7th, 3 – 5p.m. The Dover Economic Development Committee would like to welcome all of Dover to a Community Forum to be held at the Dover Elementary School on Nov. 7, 2009 at 5p.m. Presentations by: Marketing Committee, Trails and Paths Committee, Events Committee, Telecommunications Committee and the Beautification Committee will take place. Snacks and refreshments will be served.
DATES TO REMEMBER:
· Lunch/Breakfast envelope due Wednesday, Nov. 4th.
· Noon release on Nov. 11th – lunch served prior to dismissal.
· No school on Nov. 25, 26 and 27.
