GIRLS ON THE RUN PAPERWORK DUE!!

IMPORTANT!!  We need the paperwork back - with payment, by Monday, March 22nd if you plan to have your daughter participate in the Girls on the Run Program.   As of today, we are not certain if there will be scholarship funds available, but we are still checking other sources.

CRISIS DRILL

SCIENCE FAIR

Grades 4, 5 and 6 will be holding a Science Fair in the school gymnasium on Tuesday, March 23rd from

6 – 7p.m.  Come review the hard work students have put into their projects.

NO MEDICINES IN SCHOOL

Just a reminder, neither prescription nor over the counter drugs may be brought to school by students for their use during the day.  All medication needs to be turned into the office by a parent/guardian with the proper form (green form) completed, and with the medication in its’ original container.  The safety of all students is extremely important to us.  We thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

INVITATION TO PARENTS

Mr. Rashid has informed the L & G board, students and staff that he will not return next year.  The board unanimously acknowledged his decision and thanked him for his service.  The search for a principal to succeed him has begun.  Parents are invited to assist with the principal selection process.  Any parent willing and able to participate in small group interviews (tentatively scheduled for April 1, 2 and 5-7); please contact Dr. Steven John at 365-9510 x102 no later than Wednesday, March 24th.

DOVER SCHOOL TALENT SHOW

The annual Dover School Talent Show will be held on Thursday, April 15th.  See the attached form.

GIRLS ON THE RUN

Please see the attached brochure.  This is for girls in grades 3 – 8.  If your daughter is interested, please notify the school in writing NO LATER THAN TUESDAY, MARCH 9th.

MENU/ENVELOPE ATTACHED

The next breakfast/lunch envelope is attached.  Please send your envelope with payment back to school by Wednesday, March 10th.  There are some envelopes still not in for this last two week period! This makes it difficult to give Jim, our chef, an accurate breakfast and lunch count.  We count the breakfasts/lunches students are signed up for each day and send that exact number down to Jim, so he does not waste food by preparing too much.  If your child is not signed up and takes a lunch – at times we come up short.  This is unfair to the students who have signed up ahead of time.  Our lunch account was set up to be self-sufficient and has not been, so we are “watching our pennies and waste”.  Also, if you sign your child/children up for breakfast and/or lunch, they have been included in the count, so be certain they actually do take it.  Your anticipated cooperation is appreciated!!

MOMMY MART

On Saturday, April 10th from 10a.m. – 2p.m., there will be a “Mommy Mart” at the Dover Town Hall in East Dover.  There will be quality used clothing and toys for infants, toddlers, children and mothers.  If you are interested in selling quality items, you may reserve a table for $15. by calling Traci Fletcher at 348-7148.  Sponsored by the Deerfield Valley Starting Points.
